Kedai Makanan Rasa Lain 味不同海鲜坊, Bercham + Restoran Tuck Kee, Ipoh, Perak

For dinner, we decided to go to a local seafood restaurant recommended by our friend. This restaurant Kedai Makanan Rasa Lain 味不同海鲜坊 is situated in Bercham and takes about a 20-minute drive from the center of Ipoh town.

Reservations for crabs and la la clams are recommended as the restaurant is quite popular and runs out of seafood rather early. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the meal from what they had on offer and would make a return trip in future to try out their crabs and la la clams.

Fragrant stir fried sotong (RM14) - spicy, sour, very appetizing. Lovely, thumbs up from all fellow diners.

The shop exterior

Cheese prawns (RM54). This was a really rich and sinful dish, we enjoyed the freshness of the prawns and the stringy sticky cheese sauce.

Couldn't get our hands on crabs, so decided to try this instead - Claypot Glass noodles in soup with fish slices (RM50), they use sek pan (garoupa) which has been deep fried, it adds a nice flavour to the fragrant soup.

Stir fry nai pak vegetables (RM8)

Stir fried lamb with french fries (RM18). We enjoyed the "stir fried lamb" part of the dish, the french fries not so much. We couldn't quite figure out what they put into the sauce but it was excellent.

We then had a walk by the Ipoh waterfront to burn off the seafood, before heading for our next meal. There is also a tin museum (bijih timah) by the waterfront. Do make a visit if you're interested in a slice of history. Entry to the Palong Tin Museum is free.
