Dim sum @ Ming Court + Egg Tarts King, Ipoh

For the final part of our trip to Ipoh, we decided to go for some dim sum for breakfast. The popular dim sum spots in Ipoh are located on the same street, so if one is full you can always decide to head on to another. We settled on Ming Court as the reviews on the place is generally positive.

The place is air-conditioned and we managed to get a seat by sharing a table. Generally, we found the deep fried dim sum to be of good quality. The steamed items were not as hot when it made its way to our corner of the restaurant, therefore the taste wasn't as good as you might expect. Dim sum here is reasonably priced, between RM2.40 to RM4.10 per plate.

Yam puff. The pastry was flaky but the filling was pretty average

Then we went for some egg tarts at Egg Tarts King, recommended by our local friend. They serve Portuguese egg tarts (RM2.50), normal and pandan egg tarts (RM1.60), and also siew pau (RM1.80). These are best eaten warm.





We tapau-ed some back for the kids - you can reheat them slightly in the oven before eating.
