How to Repel Mosquitoes Safely

Since a young age, both our kids love spending time outdoors. In the evenings, you will often find them playing ball or going for an evening walk and on weekends, they love visiting the park near our home. We also like to sit out on the decking and enjoy our breakfast or evening snack. One of my pet peeves though is the exposure my children have to mosquitoes while they are outdoors.

With the rise of dengue cases in the country, we are constantly reminded to protect our children from the deadly Aedes mosquitoes which transmit the dengue virus. Furthermore, it's rainy season now which means even more mosquitoes than usual.

Still, the presence of mosquitoes shall not deter us from our favorite activities. As parents, we ensure our kids have adequate protection such as using either the mosquito repellent patch or a repellent spray. When buying these, a few things are important to me - it must be natural and also non-toxic as I'll be using it on my kids. One of the trusted brands which I always use is Tiger Balm, a renowned brand used by millions of people around the world.

Tiger Balm mosquito repellent patch is great because it is natural (contains citronella oil), DEET free and non-toxic, hence making it suitable even for babies. DEET is commonly found in insect repellents; as it may irritate the skin, hence I try to avoid products with DEET.

The natural citronella oil helps repel mosquitoes and insects, both outdoors and indoors. I really like the easy application - just tear the pouch and remove the protective film and stick it on your kids clothes or on any location close to them; no skin contact is required. Furthermore, they smell great, adhere well to surfaces and the patches themselves are non-sticky and long-lasting. They are also individually packed for freshness and compact hence I can always keep some in my bag and use them whenever required.

I can have peace of mind, knowing that my kids are protected from mosquitoes while they are enjoying their playtime.
